Goh Betoch Bank, established by 11 visionary individuals including veteran bankers, investors, and academicians, is Ethiopia's first private mortgage bank. The bank was founded to address the country's significant housing challenges, such as a substantial housing backlog, unaffordable housing due to rising construction costs, persistent inflation, and inadequate housing financing schemes. It officially commenced operations on October 25, 2021.
